The effects of the Political & Social Changes on Persian architecture in the first Pahlavid era
Abstract
In the Iranian architecture history, the period of the reign of Reza Shah Pahlavi (1320-1304) is important in some ways. It seems that in the aftermath of the evolution of architecture from the late Qajar period, the first Pahlavi period should be seen as an era of turmoil and confusion in architectural buildings. The construction of the same time of various buildings, each of which represents one of the schools and architectural styles, is the proof of this claim. Although attempts have been made to create a link between the various spectra and sometimes the combination of tradition and modernism, but due to the prevalence of various political and cultural trends, the constructional order system was adapted from a variety of modernity styles and custom and rush in building, occurred in Iranian architecture.
This Article based on the exploratory research methodology and by the method of data theorizing of the foundation and pursues a developmental goal in terms of purpose. The hypothesis of the research is that the current theory of contemporary architecture is within the framework of four distinct categories: structural ideas, stylistic references, selection of form and type of materials, and the results of the research show that the change of the symbols of the first Pahlavi era from cultural and religious buildings to a large state-owned building, with three traditional, ancient and modern methods, each of which has two distinct trends, ultimately led to the spread of modern architectural style in the rest of the 14th / 20th centuries in Iran.
